Hebei Yuantuo Electromechanical Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has successfully completed the manufacturing, assembly, testing, and delivery of a large-diameter seamless pipe induction quench and temper (Q&T) production line.
The system is designed for oil casing, structural pipes, pressure-bearing pipes, and other applications requiring stable mechanical performance and uniform metallurgical properties.

Project Background: A Comprehensive Solution for Heat Treatment of Large-Diameter Seamless Pipes

Large-diameter pipes used in extreme environments must meet strict requirements for hardness, toughness, wall-thickness uniformity, microstructure stability, and dimensional straightness.
Traditional heat-treatment methods often face issues such as uneven heating, deformation, overburning, and poor process consistency.

To address these challenges for pipes with diameters Ø320–Ø1000 mm, Yuantuo has developed a complete induction heat-treatment solution featuring high-power medium-frequency heating, self-rotation control, multi-zone closed-loop temperature control, and a fully traceable process management system.

1. Medium-Frequency Induction Heating System
  • Quenching power range: 750–3500 kW (0.5–4 kHz)

  • Multi-zone induction coils ensure uniform inner and outer wall heating

  • Real-time temperature feedback via IR pyrometers + PLC closed-loop control

2. Self-Rotating Roller Drive for Enhanced Uniformity

The specially designed double-roller system enables the pipe to rotate continuously during heating, preventing bending, localized overheating, and structural distortion.

3. Inner & Outer Wall Spray Quenching
  • Ring-shaped multi-channel spray quenching

  • Controlled and adjustable hardening depth

  • Stable and uniform cooling for various steel grades

4. Tempering System for Stress Relief and Structural Stability
  • Tempering power range: 400–1600 kW

  • Provides stable microstructure and improved toughness

5. Intelligent Automation & Recipe Management

The system integrates an industrial PC with a Siemens PLC to achieve:

  • Automatic recipe calling by steel grade, diameter, and wall thickness

  • Closed-loop control of temperature, power, and line speed

  • Real-time status monitoring and production data recording

High Throughput Capacity: 2–10 Tons per Hour

With optimized induction heating and conveyor design, the production line supports continuous Q&T processing for large-diameter pipes, achieving up to 2–10 t/h depending on pipe size and steel grade.
