Yuantuo Induction Annealing System for Steel Pipes

Yuantuo’s induction annealing system is engineered for reliable heat treatment of carbon, alloy and stainless steel pipes—including OCTG (casing/tubing). Medium-frequency induction brings pipes to temperature quickly and uniformly, while PLC + infrared closed-loop control holds tight setpoints throughout the cycle. A modular, configurable layout adapts to multiple diameters and wall thicknesses, delivering repeatable metallurgical properties with efficient energy use.

Description

Yuantuo’s pipe-annealing equipment uses advanced induction heating to perform reliable annealing on steel pipes—including OCTG (casing/tubing). With precise temperature control and high heating capacity, the system helps pipes reach the desired physical and metallurgical properties, and is suitable for annealing across all common pipe types and grades.

Key Features

High Heating Efficiency

Induction heating brings pipes to temperature rapidly and uniformly, boosting throughput while ensuring even temperature distribution during the cycle.

Wide Size Compatibility

The line handles multiple diameters and wall thicknesses. Its flexible, configurable design adapts quickly to different pipe sizes and annealing requirements.

Accurate Temperature Control & Automation

A PLC control system paired with infrared pyrometry monitors each pipe’s temperature in real time. Closed-loop control automatically adjusts power to keep every pipe at the target annealing temperature—reducing variation and improving consistency. Full-process automation minimizes manual intervention, improving productivity and safety.

Energy-Saving & Environmentally Friendly

High-efficiency power supplies and optimized heating practice lower energy use and harmonic pollution, while improving process stability—aligned with modern environmental standards.

Application Scope

OCTG and related tubulars: Efficient annealing for casing/tubing and other oilfield pipes to achieve required properties and downstream processability.

General steel pipes: Annealing for Ø60–Ø600 mm carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel pipes—including high-strength, high-spec materials.

Induction Heating Process

Preheating

Pipes may be preheated before entering the inductor to avoid thermal shock and minimize internal thermal stresses.

Induction Annealing

In the induction furnace, pipes are uniformly heated to the specified annealing temperature. Induction converts electrical energy to heat efficiently and evenly across the cross-section.

Temperature Control & Auto-Adjustment

IR sensors continuously read surface temperature; the PLC automatically trims power to hold setpoints and achieve the required thermal profile for each size/grade.

Controlled Cooling

After annealing, pipes follow a defined cooling regime to maintain mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy for subsequent processing.

Technical Advantages

Effective Energy Savings

Optimized power configuration and efficient inductors reduce specific energy consumption and raise heating efficiency—lowering operating costs.

Precise, Traceable Temperature Control

PLC + infrared temperature monitoring provides tight control and uniform temperature distribution to meet demanding process specifications.

Fully Automated, Intelligent Operation

Automatic control of key parameters throughout the cycle reduces human error and increases line productivity.

Safe & Reliable

Multi-level protection—such as over-voltage/over-current safeguards, phase-loss detection, and interlocks for cooling/water flow—supports stable operation under high load, reducing failure rates and extending equipment life.
